“Nice Place...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2012 NEW
2 of us went for dinner last week-- to celebrate our anniversary. Called ahead and got a nice window seat. Very pleasant place, simply decorated, service very good, knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. Food was excellent - I had eggplant for starter and osso buco for main course, my partner had salad for starter and the fish special for main course. In my experience if they can get osso buco right, it a good sign and mine was delicious, as were all the other courses and our shared desert. Add a nice bottle of decent red for $25 (there are several decent choices at this price point) and based on this first experience we would go back.

“Good meal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2012
4 of us went for dinner--pleasant place, service good, though sometimes abit slow. Buit very attentive. Decor simple but okay for an Italian restaurant. Food excellent-all 4 different man dishes were enjoyed fully. Would go back. A bonus--a ist of several red and white wines all for $25--chose an Italian red and it was very good.

“Friendly service and hearty portions”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2012
Our girlfriends group dined here last night. Although the space is small it was comfortable enough for us to converse without feeling crowded. Some of us had the specials, most of us had a pasta dish. The portions were quite large. I had the fresh orechiette with dried figs and artichoke hearts drizzled with black truffle oil. They could have gone easier on the oil as it was very rich. I certainly brought the remainder of my meal home for lunch the next day! The waiters were great -- courteous, offering entree recommendations and filling our water (and wine) glasses constantly. I recommend you try this place, even though it is yet another Italian in the Westport neighborhood.

My wife and I went to Rustico ...

Superb dining experience in Westport. My wife and I went to Rustico Trattoria to celebrate an anniversary with a five at the end and were delighted by our dining experience. We had heard good things in Greenwich about this relatively new trattoria in Westport. The greeting was genuinely welcoming from the moment we stepped in from the front door of this emerging, hot spot in Westport. The place was bustling in part due to Moms' Night Out on Wednesday night, which I gather is becoming common here but was unobtrusive even in this smaller trattoria. The cheerful, intimate trattoria had a lovely ambiance with beautifully wrought stonework throughout. Glen was our waiter and he was most attentive and gracious. We started with a nice Chardonnay and Martini followed by a Caesar which was generous but delicately prepared so that the fresh flavours presented themselves originally and we were off to a good start. I ordered the Pollo Ripieno which generous stuffed chicken dish came with a beautifully prepared red wine sauce. My wife ordered the fettucine in a brandy, cream sauce with sundried tomatoes and mushrooms. She raved about the spectacular flavour of this dish a few times on the way home to Greenwich. I finished with a Tiramisu which, I swear, was not of this world -- very possibly the best desert ever created by the hands of man. We closed with a spectacular lemoncello for my wife and an orangecello for me -- I highly recommend that you finish your meal in this festive way. The service was extremely friendly, prompt, diligent and the gracious chef visited our table to say hello in a very nice touch. I really can't recommend this immersive Westport dining experience highly enough. Extremely good value for the highly reasonable menu pricing. We are most eager to return to Rustico Trattoria and I give it my highest rating of ***** (five stars out of five.)

outstanding!
thought it would be hard to replace Panne Vino but Rustico is great. the pasta with lobster, veal with prosciutto and shellfish & linguini were all perfect. the $25/bottle wine list is great....luv'd the dolcetto. service is outstanding. and there weren't a million little kids eating pizza like Tarry Lodge. make a new year's resolution to visit!!

Delicious Dining Experience!
My friends and I recently dined at the newly renovated Rustico Trattoria. The atmosphere is intimate and friendly. You feel welcome from the moment you enter. Our waiter Jose greeted us with a smile, and was very cheerful, attentive and informative. The food was amazing! Miguel is a truly talented chef, and we are so happy to have him in the area. The Zuppetta di Mare appetizer was fantastic. I had the Baccala la Checca cod dish, it was cooked to perfection. My husband had the Spigola ala Michelangelo sea bass, which he loved. We highly recommend Rustico.
